Legacy Fund?

Executive Director, Stephanie Kelley, led East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) for nine years with a steady kindness and unbounded compassion that transformed what our organization did for its neighbors. Since transitioning into a career in academia—of which we know she'll continue creating impactful change—many have asked how we will continue to honor Stephanie's legacy of impact here at ECCO.

The Fund was created in collaboration with Stephanie and carries only one condition - that the funds generated are unrestricted so they may make the greatest impact for the greatest need. How is your gift used?

The Stephanie M. Kelley Legacy Fund is intentionally unrestricted to provide support for ECCO when and where funds are most needed. Each donation helps to ensure the longevity of the vital “Assistance, Guidance and Resources” our neighbors rely on each day.

Stephanie Kelley served as Executive Director of ECCO from 2017 to 2026. During her time with ECCO, Kelley oversaw significant change that empowered our neighbors, programs and staff:

  • Reunited ECCO's services under one roof. Stephanie led the historic $5.6 million Beyond Our Walls campaign, bringing programs scattered across the community back together so neighbors could find help, guidance and resources in one place.
  • Grew ECCO into a lasting resource for thousands of families. Under her leadership, ECCO's reach and revenue both multiplied and Increased the number of new ECCO neighbors served by 128%, significantly expanding the organization's reach and impact in the community.
  • Built a culture rooted in people, not paperwork. She led with relationship first - prioritizing the staff, volunteers, neighbors and donors who make up ECCO's community, and left behind an organization stronger, steadier and more compassionate than she found it.
