Dental Hygienist

East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) is currently hiring for a Dental Hygienist.

About East Cooper Community Outreach: Founded as an emergency relief effort in 1989
after the devastation from Hurricane Hugo, East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) has
since grown into a permanent resource for the community with a mission to provide assistance,
guidance, and resources to help our neighbors navigate through life’s challenges. Annually,
over 1,500 families receive help through ECCO’s Wellness Pantry, Financial Assistance, Dental
& Medical Clinics, Prescription Assistance, Clothing Closet, Asset Development Program, and
other services. Enhanced through personal interactions with staff who provide individualized
support and coaching for each client, ECCO meets each client where they are and helps them
navigate the challenges they are facing with care and compassion. ECCO is also a place where
people who want to help their neighbors can find meaningful ways to share their time, talent,
and treasure. Each month, more than 200 local neighbors give their time, volunteering at

Position Summary
The as needed Dental Hygienist will play a key role in the ECCO Dental Clinic by providing
excellent oral hygiene care and oral health treatment to patients. The Clinic serves our
uninsured neighbors from the Tricounty at no cost.

Reports to: Health Services Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary Range: $35 (as needed, 8 – 16 hours per week)

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate of a Dental Hygiene program that meets or exceeds the standards
established by the ADA
Valid South Carolina state dental hygienist license 
American Heart Association BLS certificate

Preferred Qualifications:
Additional skills, knowledge, and attributes that will support the successful completion of
position responsibilities.

Two years of dental hygienist experience
Knowledge, use, and experience with Open Dental or similar dental software
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and clients.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to use Microsoft Office software and Google’s workspace

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Work involves regular and recurring exposure to potential hazards of radiation and
communicable diseases. Clinic employees are required to wear personal protective equipment
and follow appropriate protective measures. Frequent periods of bending, standing, and walking
are required. The position frequently communicates with employees, practitioners, volunteers,
and clients; the ability to professionally exchange accurate and sensitive information in these
situations is required. Work requires reaching, and recurring bending to perform intraoral
procedures. The hygienist must also demonstrate above-average dexterity in manipulating
sharp dental instruments.

Supervisory Requirements: None

Typical work hours are between 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM on Mondays and Wednesdays with a
possibility of additional hours if needed. Additionally, all staff are required to attend occasional
special events in the evenings or on weekends.

Warehouse Manager

Position Summary
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for ECCO’s ability to maintain a wellness pantry to
provide clients the best variety of food, while serving them with grace and dignity. The
Warehouse Manager strives to increase accuracy, efficiency and consistency within the
warehouse operations to ensure safety, organization and adequate inventory levels to serve our
clients. This role’s main responsibilities are:
● Manage day-to-day inventory, receiving, rotation and distribution of wellness pantry
items
● Ensure volunteers are adhering to processes and policies for
shopping/inventory/sorting/restocking for excellent and timely client service delivery;
optimize SmartChoice functionality
● Support the Food Drive volunteer team by providing most needed items for GBS and
community food drives and coordinating bag delivery and pick up

Reports to: Director of Operations and Logistics

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Hiring Salary Range: $44,200 – $52,000

Minimum Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree + 1 year of experience OR
● Associate’s degree + 3 years of experience OR
● Diploma + 8 years of experience
● Staff supervision experience
● Valid driver’s license and a 10-year driving record with no major incidents

position responsibilities.
● Previous warehouse, grocery/retail, supply chain, and/or logistics experience
● Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative team environment
● Ability to support warehouse volunteers and oversee daily logistical operations utilizing
established SOP’s
● Ability to proactively solve problems and quickly adapt to new situations and challenges
and determine when to escalate issues and/or concerns to Director of Operations
● Ability to identify opportunities to streamline and implement effective, efficient systems
across all operational
● Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative team environment
● Ability to manage time, foster both positive and productive relationships and teamwork
● Ability to use Microsoft Office software and Google’s workspace

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This position operates in a warehouse environment and routinely uses a motor vehicle,
pallet jack, lift truck, and ladder. Constant moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from
one worksite to another. Frequently and daily moves donated products and equipment
weighing up to 50 pounds. Periodic exposure to outdoor elements such as varied
temperatures, precipitation, and wind. Frequent use of computer equipment. The position
frequently communicates with employees, volunteers, clients, donors and the community;
the ability to exchange accurate information in these situations is required.

Supervisory Requirements
Oversees the daily workflow of the team- both staff and volunteers; manages performance in
accordance with ECCO policy for 1 FT and 1 PT Route Driver.

Schedule
Typical work hours are between 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday and 8:30 AM –
4 PM on Fridays. Additionally, all staff are required to attend occasional special events in the
evenings or on weekends.
