Health & Wellness

East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) is committed to supporting our clients and making sure they have the resources they need to live happy productive lives. In addition to the dental and health services we provide, we also recommend the following resources.

Mental Health Counseling

People pursue counseling and therapy for a variety of reasons. Many people seek counseling because they have identified specific goals or issues that they wish to work on. Others may be encouraged by family, friends, or medical professionals to seek help, and in some cases, a person may be mandated to attend therapy as part of a court ruling or by a parent or guardian (if the person is a minor).

Whatever the impetus, it takes courage to attend therapy, and it takes dedication to see it through. Together, the client and the therapist will determine the goals of therapy, and if the therapy should be short- or long-term.

Marie Carter & Associates specializes in family conflict, relational skills, grief, loss and trauma, and many other issues. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Marie Carter & Associates, has canceled in-person counseling services but is still assisting people through telehealth.

You do not need a referral from ECCO to obtain these services. Call them at (843) 412-4444 with any questions or if you would like to schedule a video conference appointment.

Access Health

The Access Health Tri-County Network is a community program that provides care coordination to individuals not covered by health insurance and who do not have a doctor or medical home. By connecting the Lowcountry’s uninsured residents to a medical home, we are able to better meet their primary care needs and, in turn, improve the health of our community.

To receive a referral to Access Health, individuals must be a current patient of one of ECCO’s medical clinics. To find out if you qualify, please call us at (843) 416-7145 or email
