This past June, ECCO’s “Hunger Doesn’t Vacation” social media campaign addressed a critical issue facing our community – a lack of access to affordable food.

The end of the school year often marks the end of guaranteed meals for many of our Lowcountry children. In Charleston County alone, over 40% of students are eligible to receive free and reduced breakfast and lunch. That means over 20,000 kids living right here in our community will struggle to find healthy meals throughout the summer. To provide direct assistance to the kids ECCO serves, we need your help.

This summer campaign will directly support the families we serve by ensuring the shelves of our Wellness Pantry are full of nutritious food.

The one-week social media campaign raised $5,000 online. At ECCO’s June 20th Do Good Gathering, we asked the attendees to directly support this initiative and over $55,000 was raised!

We count ourselves blessed to live in a community, that cares deeply about ensuring other’s most basic needs are met.
