East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) is currently hiring for a Financial Assistance and ADP Coordinator

About East Cooper Community Outreach: Founded as an emergency relief effort in 1989 after the devastation of Hurricane Hugo, East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) has since grown into a permanent resource for the community with a mission to provide assistance, guidance, and resources to help our neighbors navigate through life’s challenges. Annually, over 1,500 families receive help through ECCO’s Wellness Pantry, Financial Assistance, Dental & Medical Clinics, Prescription Assistance, Clothing Closet, Asset Development Program, and other services. Enhanced through personal interactions with staff who provide individualized support and coaching for each client, ECCO meets each client where they are and helps them navigate their challenges with care and compassion. ECCO is also where people who want to help their neighbors can find meaningful ways to share their time, talent, and treasure. Position Summary
The Financial Assistance and ADP Coordinator is responsible for two service offerings.

  1. Oversee the client Financial Assistance process (first two weeks monthly) ensuring program criteria are accurately met, followed, and reported;  
  2. Determine eligibility and provide coaching and support for clients enrolled in the Asset Development Program (ADP), a savings match program which promotes financial stability and mobility for qualified participants to obtain a home, a secondary education or start/expand a business by setting and reaching personal financial goals.

Reports to: Senior Manager of Client Navigation
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt  

Salary Range: $19.71 – $21.82 (part-time, 27-29 hours per week)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree + 1 year of experience OR
  • Associate’s degree + 3 years of experience OR
  • Diploma + 8 years of experience


Preferred Qualifications: 
Additional skills, knowledge, and attributes that will support the successful completion of position responsibilities.

  • Experience with non-profit outreach efforts and the client interview/intake process
  • Effective work habits including time management, teamwork, and a proactive mindset 
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision 
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software and Google’s workspace 
  • Capable of learning a donor database program


Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This position operates in an office environment. Constant use of computer equipment. The position frequently communicates with employees, volunteers, and clients; the ability to exchange accurate information in these situations is required.

Supervisory Requirements: None

Typical work hours will fall within the timeframe of 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, as well as the first Friday of each month from 9 – 11:00 AM for the All-Staff Meeting. During certain times of the year, the hours may need to change to meet the demands of the position. Additionally, all ECCO staff members are required to attend occasional special events in the evenings or on weekends during which times an adjusted work schedule will be created.  This position is not to exceed 29 hours per week.
