The first is a Neighborhood Distribution-Information Point (NDIP) Training with the Charleston County Emergency Management Department. The NDIP Training is free and open to the public – specifically for those who want to participate in disaster recovery efforts and facility requirements for operating as an NDIP in East Cooper.

Event Details:
What: Neighborhood Distribution-Information Point (NDIP) Training
When: Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 6PM

For the last 26 years, ECCO has been an active and motivating force in the community for disaster preparedness and planning since its origin following Hurricane Hugo. The organization sponsors informational meetings, workshops, and seminars throughout the year. Ivan Lund, ECCO’s Disaster Preparedness Coordinator maintains strong partnerships with the Town of Mount Pleasant and other government service providers, and actively recruits churches, businesses, and organizations for post-hurricane relief and recovery participation.

ECCO also offers customized Family Hurricane Preparedness Kits for a donation of $40. The contents of the kit have a combined value of approximately $80 and include twenty individual items such as a Dynamo 4-in-1 Flashlight Radio with batteries, a 52-piece First Aid Kit, toilet paper, a light stick, and more.
